Chrissy Teigen accidentally reveals sex of third child in Instagram video
The unexpected reveal involved ‘no fires and no one shot in the dick’
Pregnant Chrissy Teigen has accidently revealed the sex of her third child in a video shared on Instagram stories.
The 34-year-old author and model spoke about the complications she was experiencing with her latest pregnancy before referring to the unborn child as a “he”.
“It's so weird because the baby's really, really healthy,” she began. “He's big. He’s probably, oops! That was stupid,” she exclaimed, covering her mouth.
In response to a fan’s comment that her disclosure was “the perfect gender reveal”, Teigen replied: “no fires and no one shot in the dick”.
The comment was a reference to two recent high profile gender reveal cases in the US that sparked the El Dorado California wildfire and saw a man shoot himself in the groin.
Teigen and her husband, singer John Legend, are already parents to two children: four-year-old Luna and two-year-old Miles.
The mother of two was put on “super serious” bed-rest in early September, admitting that her third child was proving to be a more “difficult” pregnancy.
In the Instagram video, Teigen announced that her placenta “sucks”.
“It’s always been kind of the bad part of my pregnancies with Luna,” she said.
“With Miles, it just stopped feeding him. It stopped taking care of him. I was stealing all his food because I was getting huge but he wasn’t getting big at all, so he had to come out early and Luna had to come out early. I was induced both times.”
Despite the complications, Teigen confirmed that her third child was “growing beautifully”.
“Everything’s good,” she said.
“I’m feeling really good, but my placenta’s really, really weak and it’s causing me to really bleed a lot. So basically, it’s just pretty high risk.”
Teigen joked that she was being “punished” for her previous comments about the ease of her first two pregnancies.
“But, yeah, I will say I'm probably being punished for talking so much about how great the first two went,” she said.
“I was like, 'Oh, yeah, [being] pregnant's awesome.' Now, I get it. I get anyone that thinks it's not so awesome,” she admitted.
Despite this, she added that she was “very happy” to be carrying her third child.
