A YouTube dating expert has taken to the streets of Shoreditch in East London to see how men react when they are given flowers by a woman.

In the role-reversing video, Hayley Quinn, whose YouTube channel has almost 50,000 subscribers, approaches men that look interesting or attractive, and sees how they react when she makes the first move and gives them flowers.

The men in the video, while seeming a little taken aback and confused, all react well to her offer, with some even leaning in for a hug or stopping to chat after receiving their gift.

After the experiment is over, Quinn seems pleased with the results. She said: "Everyone seemed happy to receive it," and commented that people generally seemed hesitant when presented with something positive and unexpected.

Conducting 'social experiments' on the street is a big hit on YouTube, with every popular channel and online marketing agency seemingly falling over themselves to reach viral fame through capturing the reactions of strangers.

A similar video produced by voucher site TopCashback in August showed a woman offering free money to strangers on the streets of London.

Unlike Hayley Quinn's flower video, more than half of those approached refused the money.

Clearly, the way to a stranger's heart is through flowers, not cash.
