They say mums don’t remember the pain of childbirth once it’s over - but what about the pain of finals?

One new mum showed her determination, and extremely high pain threshold, when she accomplished both at the same time.

Nayzia Thomas, a sophomore studying psychology at Johnson County Community College in Kansas, Missouri, was hoping to finish her finals before her new baby arrived - but her son decided to come during finals instead.

In a photo posted to Twitter that has now gone viral, a very pregnant Thomas sits in her hospital bed surrounded by textbooks and her laptop. According to the tweet, Nayzia’s mum took the photo of her daughter in labour using the time before her baby’s entry into the world to finish up her finals.

Captioned, “My mom took this picture and it’s the perfect explanation of my life. Yes, I’m about to have a baby but finals season ain't over yet,” the photo shows Thomas looking calm as she finishes up her finals, proving she’s one tough mum.

People seem to agree because the original post has more than 130,000 likes.

According to an update to the original tweet, Nayzia and the baby’s father welcomed a baby boy on December 12. However she experienced major blood loss and her body went into shock post-delivery. "It was very scary," she said, "but his father was right there to take over when I went unconscious. We are blessed."

She was also blessed with good grades - she finished the semester with an impressive 3.5 GPA.

Regarding the viral tweet and her GPA, Thomas said, “School is so important to me. I didn’t want (the pregnancy) to be in the way. That’s what people expect. You’re a teen mom, you’re a young mother. That’s why my mom took the photo. It shows I follow through.”

Not only are people amazed by the dedication to school, but some are also praising Thomas for managing to look amazing throughout the entire ordeal.

Others are sharing photos of themselves in similar situations, proving the multitasking power of mums.

And as one Twitter user summed it up, this is the “embodiment of strength, determination, and perseverance.”

This is proof mums can do just about anything.
