American stars throw weight behind gun control campaign in moving video

The video sees famous faces call for change with the words 'We can end gun violence'

Famous faces from across America have announced their support for gun control through a video produced by gun safety campaigners.

Everytown for Gun Safety has compiled contributions from the public alongside more well known faces, which include President Barack Obama, Jennifer Aniston and Julianne Moore to name a few.

Viewers are offered the chance to add their voice to the video, as the organisation's website asks: 'Speak up for a future free from gun violence by lending your voice to the "We Can End Gun Violence" video.'

Everytown for gun safety hopes to change current gun legislation in a number of ways, including background checks, preventing domestic abusers from owning guns, education in responsible gun ownership and stronger gun trafficking laws.

The campaign is promoting itself as a movement that is working ' to end gun violence and build safer communities. Gun violence touches every town in America.'

'For too long, change has been thwarted by the Washington gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives.

'Together, we are fighting for the changes that we know will save lives.'

Everytown for Gun Safety released a similarly styled video in 2012, titled ' Demand A Plan to End Gun Violence', which has reached more than 10 millions views.
