A Russian official who witnessed and reported electoral fraud taking place at a local election outside of Moscow has been hospitalised with a ruptured spleen after a group of men attacked and savagely beat him.
According to The Moscow Times, Stanislav Pozdnyakov saw people ballot-box stuffing at the election in Balashikha, an area in the Moscow Oblast, near Moscow.
He flagged the issue on Sunday, after which a group of eight men arrived in a BMW car with no number plates. The men then beat Pozdnyakov and another man, Dmitry Nesterov, Pozdnyakov’s friend Dmitry Georgiyevsky told Russian site OVD Info.

Pozdnyakov reported the incident to the police.
Three days later he discovered he was bleeding and was rushed to the Sklifosovsky hospital in Moscow where his spleen was removed.
