Anthony Joshua celebrates beating Alexander Povetkin

Anthony Joshua faces Alexander Povetkin in what the British champion has described as the "second hardest fight" of his professional career. Povetkin, the mandatory challenger to the WBA title, has the potential to become Russia's first ever unified world heavyweight champion, with Joshua's IBF, WBO and IBO straps on the line too.

The 39-year-old has lost just one of his 35 fights, a points defeat to the great Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013. Since then he has won eight consecutive fights, including a knockout victory over David Price on the Joshua-Parker undercard. Ominously, he has never been stopped.

Meanwhile, Joshua will be looking to extend his flawless professional record to 22-0 in his third fight at Wembley.

Povetkin shows the cameras that, despite what can only be described as a scary finish, he is good and well.

Nice to see.

Dillian Whyte had this to say on Sky Sports after watching his rival win yet again

“Povetkin was going to be sharp early, but AJ took it between 5 and 7 rounds. Joshua’s youth and his activity, the fighters he has fought, I thought he would come through.

“Joshua is under a lot of pressure, there is massive pressure on me every fight and he is at a higher level than me.

"He was patient and took his time, he was jabbing to the body and then brought the right into play which caught Povetkin by surprise.

"Hopefully, it's me next, I'm here and ready to fight."

Stick around a while longer, we'll be headed to the press conference shortly where we'll hear from team Joshua.

Another Wembley night done and dusted, he'll make his fourth appearance here in 2019 - and that one is going to be mouth watering.
