Chris Froome shares video of him training one leg

Chris Froome has posted a video showing him riding one legged on a training bike as he continues his recovery from a serious crash in June.

Froome slammed into a wall at around 50kph during a reconnaissance ride at the Criterium du Dauphine in France, and was airlifted to hospital in St Etienne where he was put in intensive care. He suffered fractures to his ribs, femur and neck.

The four-time Tour de France champion was ruled out of the race and potentially the entire year, but has already made swift progress in his recovery.

His manager at Team Ineos, Sir Dave Brailsford, revealed last week that Froome was back on a bike and on Wednesday Froome posted a video showing him pedalling with one leg.

Froome’s team-mate Geraint Thomas is currently second in the Tour de France with four competitive stages remaining.
