This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Solanke tries his luck from around 25 yards out. It's on target, yet the prolific striker doesn't get enough on the low drive to truly trouble Verbruggen. The Dutchman saves simply down to his bottom right.

Kelly fouls Buonanotte and provides a deep free-kick opportunity for the away side on the left. It gets knocked down but is then ultimately wasted as Travers gets a goal-kick.

Bournemouth play a hopeful ball over the back line with Senesi. Unal presses Igor and Semenyo gets it. It's played back into the box for the Turkish striker, yet he's slow getting back onside and Brighton survive.

Brighton have been very hit and miss in this opening half. Adingra's lack of real input has been a telling sign of such. He's just wellied in a poor overhit cross after receiving the ball again following being dispossessed. After his overhit cross, he's in the box to header way over. It was fitting that De Zerbi had his head in his hands just moments before the move. Don't pan the camera to him now...

Senesi plays in Kluivert on the left and his chipped ball over causes havoc in Brighton's six yard box. Ouattara misses the first effort but fires a header at Dunk and Verbruggen has to claim at his near post.

The resulting corner is cleared by the visitors and as ten minutes remain of this first half, they could do with a response... but it has been all Bournemouth in the last five minutes.

Bournemouth work themselves out of danger smartly with Solanke dropping deep to spark a quick move through the middle. Kluivert tries to slip it through Brighton's back line, yet it's blocked and drops to Scott. He hammers it seemingly on target but Barco gets a block in to send it over!

Unal drags wide! Following Igor succumbing to the press from Scott, the youngster flies down the right wing before pulling it back for Unal on the edge. The Turkish forward is in acres of space but his effort scurries wide of the left post!
