Aston Villa will bid to reach their first European quarter-final since 1998 tonight when they host Ajax in the Europa Conference League last 16.
The tie remains in the balance following a tight 0-0 draw in Amsterdam last week. Both sides finished with 10 players after red cards for Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Ajax defender Tristan Gooijer.
Villa will be looking to bounce back from their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of top-four rivals Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday, as Unai Emery’s side suffered a dent to their Champions League qualification hopes.
Villa set a record of 15 consecutive home league wins earlier this season, but Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs have all won there in recent weeks.

Konsa is suspended after his late red card in Ajax, but John McGinn is free to play after he was sent off against Tottenham as his suspension only applies to domestic fixtures. Matty Cash could come in at right back if Pau Torres is fit to start at centre-back. Jacob Ramsey remains a doubt while Boubacar Kamara, Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings are long-term absentees.
