Focus on Bournemouth not Bilbao, Bournemouth good side - Amorim

Rasmus Hojlund scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Manchester United a late point in their Premier League match against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Cherries started off well on the south coast and limited United to very little before pouncing on a defensive mistake to score first, with Antoine Semenyo rifling in an accomplished finish to give them the lead at the break.

United toiled for much of the match and the Cherries came within inches of extending their lead as Dango Ouattara’s free-kick rattled the woodwork, before United were offered a lifeline as Evanilson was given a controversial red card after a VAR review.

United went up a gear after the sending off, with Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes going close, before the late pressure paid off for the visitors as Hojlund bundled in after Luke Shaw’s cross to rescue a point – and some pride – for United ahead of their Europa League semi-final.

HALF-TIME! Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Same old problems for United at half-time, with a lack of quality in attack once again paired with a lack of concentration and generally poor defending at times.

It does make you wonder whether Amorim’s future will be in doubt, no matter what happens in the Europa League.

As for Bournemouth, a good season may get even better if they can keep this up.

The Cherries limited United to very little and had a few good chances of their own, though they did let the visitors back into it a little towards the end of the half.

And that is the last notable act of the half as the referee brings the half to an end.

The Cherries go into the break with a deserved lead.

Garnacho picks the ball up on the wing and sees the space open up in front of him, but he fires wide from just outside the box.

Not a lot of support for Hojlund as he tries to lead a counter, and that sort of sums up the half from a United point of view.

There’ll be two minutes of added time.

It’s still not clicking for United in attack, though that’s little surprise for anyone who’s watched them in recent weeks.

The visitors continue to rely on moments of individual quality to get their goals nowadays.

Better from United as they manage to sustain some pressure for the first time in the game, but Garnacho can’t bring down Dorgu’s cross and the hosts will have a chance to counter.

Nothing comes of Scott’s ball into the box though.

CLOSE!

A brief VAR check for a penalty after Semenyo brings down Maguire, but nothing doing.

Moments later, the long ball forward isn’t cleared by Zabarnyi and suddenly Garnacho is clean through, but Kepa saves well as the Argentine tried to lift it over him.

By far United’s best chance so far.

United do win a corner after Mainoo’s shot is deflected behind, and after some pinball in the area the visitors win another.

Two good deliveries from Fernandes, though they come to nothing as United recycle possession.

Plenty of intensity from Bournemouth and it’s making life very difficult for United, who are notoriously poor in these situations.

Dominant from the hosts so far, with United risking ending the day in the bottom five of the league.
