Follow all the action from American Express Stadium

Follow live coverage as Brighton & Hove Albion face West Ham United today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Instant chance for the hosts as Adingra drops a neat step-over on Wan-Bissaka and sends a lovely cball across the face of the goal but no Brighton boot can touch it home. Adingra then bursts away from Todibo seconds later but runs into Mavropanos as he looked to square it. Lively start.

Though European football may seem a long way off given their form, Hurzeler will be eager to hold onto this half-time lead. Victory would lift them to eighth, two points ahead of Bournemouth having played a game more. Depending on how English clubs fare in the European competitions this season, eighth or even ninth may be enough to qualify for the Conference League next season.

A relatively sedate start to the first half was sparked into life in the 13th minute by Ayari, the 21-year-old Swede whipping his first Brighton goal into the top corner from the best part of 30 yards out. Despite a winless record when falling behind away from home in the league this season, West Ham responded superbly to the opener and could have been level had Verbruggen not tipped Soucek’s 32nd minute header onto the crossbar. Brighton had the ball in the net five minutes later when a corner scramble was finished by Adingra but a brief VAR check led referee Darren England to confirm an offside in the build-up. For two sides with very little to play for, it’s been a free-flowing and even contest, the home side generating 0.25xG compared to the visitors’ 0.26xG. A little more incisiveness from either side in the second period and we could be in for a cracker.

A fascinating foot race down the right between Baleba and Bowen sees the latter get a dangerous cross into the box but Dunk is there to cover. The ball then comes to Kudus on the left byline but his threatening cut-back is snuffed out once more by Dunk.
