European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.

Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.

City, of course, are now back in first place in the table, but with only a point in it, and the two sides' goal difference separated by just five, this title race is only going to get more enthralling. Burnley were second best by some distance, and remain second bottom. They've got games in hand on the teams either side of them, but have played once more than Everton now, and time is running out to keep their fate in their own hands.

Rodri had a plethora of chances in the first half, but all game was solid as a rock in the City midfield. He finished with three shots, one of which forced a great save from Pope, and completed more passes than anyone else in Burnley's half. He also won the ball ten times, twice via interceptions and twice winning free-kicks in the process.

No goals in that second half, but City won't care as their two in the first see them go back to the top of the table with a 2-0 victory! Burnley offered a little more attackign threat in that half, but nothing to really trouble City, who probably should've added to their lead given the plethora of chances they created. Alas, Liverpool's time at the top of the tree was short-lived, and with this win, City top the pile once again.

CHANCE!!! Barnes is put through on goal and is in space. He looks to find Cornet who can tap into an open net, but chips it to him and Cornet can't get hold of the ball!

Walker feigns shooting before passing to Silva, who slips Sterling through a hole. He's in space, and shoots on the angle, but a Taylor block takes the power out of the shot and Pope gathers the ball.

WIDE!!! Sterling cuts inside and has a shot blocked, but the ball falls the way of Jesus. He hits a low, first-time shot that flies past the wrong side of the post! He's been desperately unlucky since coming on, hasn't he?
