European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.
Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

Brentford move up to 14th in the table, and they're now 11 points clear of the drop zone. Next up for them is West Ham at home. Chelsea's winning run comes to an end, and the gap between them and the teams below them could close this weekend depending on other results. Their attention turns to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

Brentford come from behind to shock Chelsea with a 4-1 win. The game really got going in the second half, with Rudiger scoring a wonderful long-range goal just three minutes after the break which went in off the post. Just two minutes later, Brentford were level through Janelt and Eriksen fired them ahead not long later after a great counter-attack. Janelt then got his second of the match with a lovely chip over Mendy from a tight angle before Wissa came off the bench to round it off for the Bees.

There was a clash of heads between Havertz and Jansson when the German took that last chance and they're both down in the box. They're okay after treatment, and will be able to see out the last minute or so.

Chelsea are still pushing for a late goal here and Kovacic wins a corner when his low cross is blocked. Ziyech whips it in, but Havertz sends his header sailing over the bar.

Ziyech's free-kick is punched away by Raya, but Kovacic volleys it back into the box. It takes a few deflections before falling for Lukaku at the far post. He takes a touch to set himself, which gives Jansson enough time to slide in and take it off him.

Mount's corner is cleared, but Chelsea quickly win it back and it's switched out to the midfielder again. He curls a better cross into the six-yard box this time, but Raya rushes off his line to get there ahead of Lukaku.

CLOSE! Lukaku holds off Ajer long enough to poke it out to Ziyech, and he curls a good cross into the box. Nobody's picking up Havertz and he glances a header on, but it bounces just wide of the far post.

Mount spreads it out to James, and instead of whipping a cross in, he squares it to Azpilicueta. He plays a blind, loose pass across the edge of the box and there are groans from the Chelsea fans as Mbuemo comes away with it.
