Follow live coverage as Chelsea face Ipswich Town today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Chelsea vs Ipswich Town

The points are shared at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea stuttering again in the race for the top five. The Blues avoided defeat after going in 2-0 down at the break but will be disappointed they could not convert their dominance into a victory, after firing off 34 efforts at Alex Palmer's goal. Enciso and Johnson had the Tractor Boys in front in the first half, both assisting each other for the two goals, before a Tuanzebe own goal got the hosts back into it in the first minute of the second period. Town defended bravely but Sancho's stunner rescued a point for the hosts with 11 minutes to play. Alex Palmer was surely the best player on the pitch, however, having made eight saves, including two vital ones in second-half stoppage time. The Blues won the xG count 2.14-1.14 and saw 73.6% of the ball but couldn't find a winner, so only move up to fifth in the table, with Fulham to come next in the Premier League. Wolves' victory over Tottenham means Ipswich are 18th and 14 points off survival with six games to play. Thanks for following!
