Chelsea take a huge step towards Champions League qualification as they beat Manchester United 1-0. The goal came in the second half through a Cucurella header after a wonderful cross from James. The home side weren't entirely in control in the first half though did go close through Madueke and with James striking the post with a shot from range. United started brightly and thought they had gone in front with a fine Maguire finish but the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR review. Chelsea were awarded a penalty in the second half after George was adjudjed to have been followed by Onana in the area but the decision was quickly rescinded via VAR after replays showed barely any contact. The home side struggled to find a breakthrough until Cucurella popped up. In terms of xG, Chelsea created 0.82 to 0.37 for Manchester United. Chelsea now move up to fourth, ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference while United remain 16th in the table. Chelsea are away to Nottingham Forest in nine days time for ther final league match of the season while United now prepare for their Europa League final against Tottenham in Bilbao.
