A poor Colwill pass is easily dispossessed by Amad, resulting in Dorgu winning a corner off a deflection from James. This hasn't been a bad start from United.

Caicedo is forced to go backwards after strong pressing from Fernandes. Despite a final on the horizon, the Portuguese has been as industrious as ever in the opening minutes.

At 19 years and 101 days, George is the fourth-youngest Chelsea player to start a Premier League match against Man Utd, behind Scott Sinclair in 2007 (18y 45d), Neil Shipperley in 1993 (18y 169d) and Lewis Hall in 2023 (18y 259d). He's not had much of the ball so far.

United try and hit back with an attack of their own as Fernandes sprays a delightful pass to Dorgu in space on the left side, but his cross is easily dealt with by Sanchez. This has been an open start from both sides.

BIG MISS! Chelsea should be in front already. It comes from a burst by Caicedo who then plays it to Palmer who frees Madueke in the penalty area with a gorgeous pass but the winger skies his shot over the crossbar from close range. An awful finish.

The first half-chance goes United's way as Amad tees up Bruno for a whipping cross but Mount can't quite get the connection on the header and it loops into the hands of Sanchez. Chelsea have had the ball in the early minutes but that was a decent break from the visitors.
