Follow all the action from Stamford Bridge

Follow live coverage as Chelsea face Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

WIDE!!! Maddison and Johnson combine from the corner as Chelsea fail to deal with the latter's cross to the far post. It comes back for Spence on the edge of the box, but he gets his first-time finish all wrong and blazes it high and wide of the target!

Up steps Maddison for Spurs, but his strike from the free-kick is hit straight into the wall and deflects behind for a corner.

CHANCE!! Fernandez does quite brilliantly to turn away from Bentancur in the box before drilling a low cutback from the byline, but Vicario parries and Romero is there to hoof the loose ball clear for Spurs!

Sarr gets in behind the Chelsea defence and stands up a cross into the middle, but Gusto heads it away from danger and neither Bentancur nor Johnson can make anything of the resultant chance.

Ange Postecoglou has lost all three of his Premier League meetings with Chelsea – the only side he has faced without yet picking up a point in the competition. He could become the first ever Tottenham manager to lose each of his first four league games against Chelsea, and looks on course to do so after that equaliser from Sarr was chalked off.

NO GOAL!!! Tottenham too are denied after a second look!! Sarr's challenge on Caicedo in the middle caught the Chelsea midfielder very high on his knee, and as a result it'll be a free-kick to the home side, rather than the visitors making it 1-1 out of nowhere!
Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur
BALL IN THE NET!!! Tottenham too are denied a goal which would have put them on level terms!! Sarr dispossesses Caicedo in the centre circle following a long punt forward from Sanchez, and strides forward before catching the Chelsea keeper off guard with a low, 30-yard strike which creeps in at the far post! The away end is in raptures, but VAR steps in again to recommend a review of the footage!
