Follow live coverage as Chelsea face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea beat Wolves 3-1 and leapfrog Manchester City and Newcastle back into the top four of the Premier League. Victory ends a run of five league matches without a win for the Blues, who did not have it all their own way but ended up deserving winners. Tosin gave them the lead with a goal that was ruled offside on the field but awarded by a VAR review, before Doherty equalised for the visitors after a Sanchez error on the stroke of half-time. A quickfire second-half double did the business for Maresca's side, however, with Cucurella bundling in from close range on the hour before Madueke nodded in Chalobah's goalward header. The hosts were relatively comfortable from there, Jackson finding the net from an offside position before missing another presentable chance. Wolves did continue to test Sanchez but an xG defeat of 3.15-0.86 tells the ultimate story. They remain 17th, clear of the relegation zone by just four goals, and face Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Bournemouth in their next four league outings. Chelsea are next in action at Manchester City on Saturday evening. Thanks for following!
