Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction

Follow all the action from Hill Dickinson Stadium

Follow live coverage as Everton face Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Liverpool look to fend off competition from Arsenal, Manchester City and more.

The race for the Champions League places should also be a compelling battle, with a fifth place possible for English teams. Manchester United’s latest rebuild under Ruben Amorim sets expectations high once more after a dismal season last time out.

Meanwhile, it’s Burnley, Leeds United and Sunderland who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham inflict Everton’s first defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as they come away with an impressive 3-0 win. Spurs took the lead in the first 20 minutes. Bentancur headed back across goal, finding van de Ven to give Spurs the lead. O’Brien had a goal disallowed minutes later, with Ndiaye adjudged to have interfered in play from an offside position. The lead was doubled in added-time, as van de Ven was first to Porro’s corner. Spurs defended brilliantly in the second half, limiting Everton to very few chances. Vicario was forced into a few top saves, stopping Beto and Ndiaye from getting on the scoresheet. Sarr sealed the game moments from the end, with a header from a couple of yards out. Spurs had an xG of 2.08; with Everton having 1.53xG. Everton enjoyed more shots across the game, having more in the second half alone than Spurs did all game – however Spurs made theirs count. Before kick-off, Opta had Everton as the slight favourites, giving them a 41% chance of winning. Spurs climb up to third in the league, whilst boasting the best away record in the competition (four wins, one draw). Everton remain in 14th place after back-to-back losses. Next up, they face a trip to high flying Sunderland; Spurs host London rivals Chelsea. Everton fans will be disappointed with the poor performance and result – Spurs fans ecstatic after a perfect away display. Thank you all for tuning in to the live commentary of the game, have a great rest of your day!

Unselfish from Richarlison, who could have quite easily gone for goal himself. A fantastic assist.

SARR SCORES FOR SPURS – GAME OVER! Spurs have done excellently at soaking up the pressure this half and they have their third late on. Richarlison heads it to the back post, with Sarr sneaking in to make it three! Brilliant result for Spurs!

Less than five minutes of normal time to play now. I’d expect a small chunk of time added on.
