FA Cup scores LIVE: Man City cruise through, Everton win Lampard’s first game and Chelsea survive scare
Frank Lampard begins life as Everton manager against Brentford, Man City host Fulham and Crystal Palace take on Hartlepool
It promises to be a wonderful weekend of FA Cup football with a number of fascinating fourth round ties.
West Ham broke the hearts of Kidderminster Harriers as they overcame the non-league side 2-1 thanks to last-gasp goals in normal and extra time. Defender Alex Penny put Kidderminster, who are third in the National League North, ahead in the 19th minute in front of a packed crowd at the 6,000-capacity Aggborough Stadium. Substitute Declan Rice spared West Ham a first-ever defeat by non-league opposition by equalising in the 91st minute. The match looked set to be decided on a penalty shootout after a largely uneventful extra period but Jarrod Bowen delivered another cruel twist when he bundled the ball home in the 120th minute to send West Ham into the fifth round.
Meanwhile Chelsea suffered an FA Cup fourth-round scare on Saturday when they had to come from behind and needed extra time and a penalty save to beat League One Plymouth Argyle 2-1 with goals from Spaniards Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
And there are several 3pm kick-offs: Crystal Palace vs Hartlepool; Everton vs Brentford; Huddersfield vs Barnsley; Man City vs Fulham; Peterborough vs QPR; Southampton vs Coventry; Stoke vs Wigan; Wolves vs Norwich.

96 mins: Six minutes into extra-time at St. Mary’s stadium. Coventry are defending deep and looking to break on the counterattack. Todd Kane fires a long ball forward but overhits the pass and gives the ball back to Southampton.
Everton vs Brentford: Five things we learned as Frank Lampard wins first match in charge
Frank Lampard’s reign as Everton manager began with a comfortable win as the Blues bested Brentford in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Goodison Park.
The home side started the brighter of the two teams and took the lead just after the half hour mark when substitute Yerry Mina powered home a header from Demarai Gray’s pinpoint corner.
New signings Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli were introduced to the crowd at half-time, both cup-tied having been involved in the previous round with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, and watched their new team-mates double their lead minutes after the re-start as Richarlison clipped a fine finish over the on-rushing David Raya from compatriot Allan’s lofted pass.
Less than ten minutes later, however, Jordan Pickford was adjudged to have sent Ivan Toney tumbling after the striker was picked out by a pristine Christian Norgaard pass, and Toney stepped up to score the penalty and bring the Bees back into the game.
But the Brentford resurgence didn’t last long as Mason Holgate flicked the ball into the net with his forehead at the back post after Mads Roerslev inadvertently nodded Gray’s delivery towards his own goal. From there Everton were comfortable and Andros Townsend scored a late fourth as they progressed to the next round of a competition they last won in 1995.
Here are five things we learned from the action at Goodison Park this afternoon.
