Brighton beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup third-round tie at the Amex Stadium to progress to the fourth round, where they will play Middlesbrough.

Glenn Murray's late bundled winner proved the difference on a night when VAR made its debut and was called upon for the crucial goal, to settle a debate over whether Murray handled the ball.

73' - Connor Goldson makes a big error to lose possession to Bakary Sako in the Brighton half but the Palace striker can't capitalise as he puts his shot into the side-netting after a driving run.

Seconds later Brighton have a couple of great chances to go in front but Sam Baldock's curled effort hits the post before Biram Kayal blazes a shot over the crossbar from just 12 yards out and under no pressure.

This otherwise-drab game has really livened up in the last five minutes!

76' - Patrick van Aanholt finds himself in a position to give Palace the lead but he can't quite sort his feet out after James McArthur's cross and Tim Krul sprints off his line to collect the ball.

82' - Sam Baldock has a superb chance to give Brighton the lead as he gallops onto Biram Kayal's through pass but, with just Wayne Hennessey to beat, the striker blazes his left-footed shot over the crossbar.

That's a really poor miss.

87' - Just a few minutes to go until full-time here. Are we going to a replay in this one or will we see a late winner from either side?
