Liverpool and West Ham played out a goalless draw in the late FA Cup kick-off this evening. In a game dominted by incosistent performances and missed chances it was a less than entertaining spectacle.

Slaven Billic's side may well have come to play; however, two injuries inside the first half an hour took the power out of the Hammers' attacking performance. Instead the Croatian's side were happy to set up defensively and take the replay at Upton Park.

Liverpool on the other hand are likely to be disappointed with their performance. A number of opportunities were missed, most notably by Joe Allen and Christian Benteke. The Belgian's performance will be the most concerning for the Merseyside club. Since joining Liverpool last year his career hasn't panned out the way in which he would have hoped and tonight's performance was the manifestation of a career defined by almosts.

Nonetheless Jurgen Klopp's side remain in the competition, and whilst the hectic schedule may be difficult to deal with; the Anfield side may still harbour ambitions of a domestic cup double.
