And now it's the turn of Manchester City.Vincent Kompany leads his teammates up to collect the trophy, and lifts it high and proud towards the masses of City supporters.

The last two sides to win the League Cup have gone on to win the Premier League. Could this be the springboard for Manuel Pellegrini's men to catapult themselves back into the title race?

That's all from Wembley, and ends a pivotal day in the 2015/16 season. Manchester City are Capital One Cup winners, and could yet have a say in the Premier League title race after Arsenal blew up at another Manchester outfit, United. It's meant a brilliant weekend for Tottenham, winners today against Swansea, and league leaders Leicester, but the pressure remains on those two clubs in unfamiliar territory.

There's not long to wait until the Premier League reconvenes, and we'll be back on Tuesday to cover the first five matches from a full round of midweek fixtures. Until then, thanks for reading and goodnight.
