Follow live coverage as Fulham face Manchester City today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Fulham vs Manchester City

A goal in either half for Manchester City confirms their status as the third-best team in England after 38 matches, by virtue of a 2-0 final-day win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Gundogan’s skillful overhead-kick put the visitors ahead after just 21 minutes, but the second-half of the first period was dictated by Silva’s team, who created a number of opportunities that were thwarted by Ederson’s quick reactions. Despite seeing much more of the ball after the restart, the hosts fashioned fewer chances with increased possession and were eventually undone a second time with just under 20 minutes to go, after Lukic’s foul on Gundogan inside the 18-yard box gave Haaland the opportunity to double the lead from 12 yards out. Though they were kept goalless, Fulham created more than enough to beat Ederson, as evidenced by their 1.74 xG. Even still, Guardiola’s side are fully deserving of their win after an output of 2.84. The win takes Manchester City into third place to end the campaign, while the Cottagers finish 11th. That concludes our commentary of the Premier League fixture between Fulham and Manchester City - we hope you’ve enjoyed it!
