England drew 0-0 against Denmark in the Nations League on Tuesday night in what was a pretty dismal match in Copenhagen.

Here’s how Gareth Southgate’s charges rated:

Jordan Pickford 7 – Made a couple of sharp stops, particularly one late in the first half. Some of his distribution was a little wayward at times but there weren’t always good options in front of him, in fairness.

Joe Gomez 6 – Composed at right centre-back without having a huge amount of work to do.

Conor Coady 7 – Fitted in well to his new surroundings and talked well to his teammates from a central defensive role. Also hit some accurate raking passes to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Eric Dier 5 – Jamie Carragher highlighted his struggles as a right-footed left centre-back. An evening to forget.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6 – Sharp down the right without his usual penetration.

Kalvin Phillips 5 – A quiet debut for the Leeds United man but he did little wrong

Declan Rice 4 – Struggled to make any kind of impact on the game and let Christian Eriksen escape him on a couple of ocassions.

Kieran Tripper 5 – Look uncomfortable playing on the left side but did OK in the circumstances.

Raheem Sterling 6 – Showed one or two fleeting moments but rarely threatened the Danish defence.

Harry Kane 5 – Barely involved other than a back-post header, which he put over the bar.

Jadon Sancho 5 – Couldn’t impose himself on the came and lacked his usual confidence and flair.

Substitutes

Jack Grealish 7 – Made one positive incisive run and brought some much-needed energy and intent.

Mason Mount 6 – Looked tidy in the few moments he had the ball.
