It’s fantastic footwork from Enciso to beat both Kayode and Mbeumo down the left hand side, however his pass is a poor one and doesn’t reach an Ipswich man.

Ipswich Town vs Brentford
The statistics at half time show that this has been an even affair so far. Ipswich will need to do better in the final third if they want to come away with anything here today, whilst Brentford will want to catch the hosts out on the break. A very interesting second half could be in store for us.
Ipswich Town vs Brentford
It has been a somewhat cagey affair so far here at Portman Road, as Brentford lead Ipswich by a goal to nil. Delap had an early chance to give the hosts the lead with a header from the edge of the six-yard box, however it was a comfortable save for Flekken to make. Brentford then had a brief VAR check for a penalty after Van Den Berg was pulled down by Greaves. Luckily for Greaves, VAR stuck with the on-field decision to retake the corner. The resulting retake was headed in by Schade for his 11th league goal of the season. Since that point, neither team created any big chances, with the next best chance falling to Damsgaard who couldn’t creep his effort into the bottom corner, putting it just wide. Neither side has created a lot of xG, with Ipswich only having 0.08xG and Brentford just 0.38xG. Unsurprisingly, Brentford’s Opta win probability has risen to 79.9%, with Ipswich given a mere 5.4% chance of winning the match.

Brentford once again break forward as Kayode finds Mbeumo. His shot is blocked and eventually falls to Damsgaard who can’t direct his effort into the bottom corner as it goes just past the post.
