Follow live coverage as Leicester City face Ipswich Town today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:
Leicester City vs Ipswich Town
Leicester City pick up their sixth Premier League victory of the season as goals from Vardy and McAteer earn the Foxes a 2-0 victory over Ipswich. On his 500th appearance for the Foxes, Vardy's 200th goal for the club opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark. His low shot evaded both defender and goalkeeper after good work from Justin in the build-up. McAteer made certain of the points in the second half with a powerful drive that beat Palmer at his near post. That was McAteer's first Premier League goal of the season, and it could have come earlier had he not been denied by the post. Ipswich had the ball in the net late on, but Davis was denied by the offside flag. Davis also hit a post in the early stages of the match and Hutchinson fired over a big chance before the break. Ipswich created an xG of 1.56, but Leicester gained the three points despite a lower xG of 0.70. The Foxes move above Ipswich into 18th place, whilst Ipswich drop to 19th. Leicester travel to Bournemouth on the final day of the season at the same time as Ipswich host West Ham. That is all from me. Thanks for joining me and goodbye.
