The teams are in the tunnel and kick-off will commence shortly in the East Midlands. With both teams’ relegation from the Premier League officially confirmed, they will be hoping to give their fans something to cheer about. After announcing his decision to leave the Foxes at the end of the season, legendary striker Jamie Vardy will be hoping to go out with a bang. On the other hand, defeat for Southampton will confirm them finishing bottom of the Premier League this season, in what has been a miserable campaign for the team from the south coast.

Leicester City will be without goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, who is undergoing an operation which will see him miss the rest of the season. Jakub Stolarczyk will replace the Danish international, with the Polish shot-stopper set to earn another opportunity to impress in the league. Facundo Buonanotte will also miss today’s game due to a concussion protocol and will most likely return in the Foxes’ next Premier League fixture. Ricardo Pereira and Bobby De Cordova-Reid also miss out, with James Justin, Oliver Skipp, Jordan Ayew and Kasey McAteer all returning to the starting XI.

Though they have not won any of their four games under him so far this season (D2 L2), Southampton are currently averaging more points per game under Rusk this term (0.5) than they did under both Russell Martin (0.31) and Ivan Juric (0.29).
