Latest football transfer rumours

The transfer window is here and condensed more than ever as clubs look to frantically acquire talent with a short rest before the new campaign begins.

The day’s big news was Arsenal finally announcing their signing of Willian after he left Chelsea. Manchester United, meanwhile, could challenge Chelsea to sign Ben Chilwell, with Leicester City previously putting an £80m valuation on the England full-back. Elsewhere, Manchester City could upgrade in midfield with a £40m swoop for Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks. In Spain, Jan Oblak’s future is now under more scrutiny with Atletico Madrid crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of RB Leipzig last night – Chelsea are keen on the goalkeeper to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga after the Spaniard’s poor season.

Man United continued their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, with the Germans holding out for £108m and not a penny less. Juventus meanwhile are keen on Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, and have offered several players in a player-plus-cash deal which includes Gonzalo Higuain, Douglas Costa and Christian Romero. Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong is close to joining Werder Bremen on loan, according to Sky Sport in Germany.

The 20-year-old recently committed his future to the Red Devils with a new contract signed in March until 2022.

But more opportunities and development appear to be available now in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has reiterated the views of Michael Zorc on Jadon Sancho.

"Sancho staying at BVB is set in stone," Watzke is quoted as saying on Sky Sport in Germany.

Watzke then responded to views that Zorc's comments were designed as a negotiating tactic.

"If Michael Zorc speaks of a definitive decision, then it is definitive. There is no room for interpretation."

Ricardo Rodriguez will move from AC Milan to Torino, Sky Sport Germany are reporting.

The Swiss left-back, previously at Wolfsburg, will pen a four-year deal.

The Granata, who will pay around £2.5m, have beaten off competition from Hoffenheim and Hertha.

There’s a well-known story about Memphis Depay which some say encapsulates everything that went wrong in his one and only full year as a Manchester United player.

After coming on as a late substitute against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, he gave the ball away cheaply and allowed Diego Costa to equalise for a late 1-1 draw. Depay was dropped to the reserves. The very next evening, he made his way to Old Trafford to play in a second-string fixture against Norwich City and arrived in his Rolls-Royce.

This was taken as cast-iron proof that the previous summer’s much-hyped £25m signing from PSV Eindhoven was a typically ostentatious young footballer out of touch with supporters, insensitive to their concerns about United’s struggles under Louis van Gaal and not particularly bothered by his difficult first season in the Premier League.

West Ham have set the price tag for Declan Rice at £80m.

The Times report the Hammers have already rejected a potential swap deal including Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi.

The England international could move back to the club which initially developed him as a youngster and tighten up Frank Lampard's defence or slot into midfield as an alternative to N'Golo Kante at the base of the midfield.

Chelsea are ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Sergio Reguilon, claim AS.

The Real Madrid left-back, on loan at Sevilla, would cost around £22.5m.

And though Mikel Arteta could hold extra influence to convince his compatriot, failing to qualify for the Champions League could work against them.

Napoli, too, are keen, as are Sevilla, who have been thrilled by his contribution on route to the Europa League semi-finals.

Marca say it's "raining offers" for the attacker, who is on loan at Huesca for another year - but Wolves seemingly have a recall option this summer.

As many as 30 clubs are reported to have enquired about his services, including LaLiga sides Real Betis, Celta Vigo, Getafe and Granada.

AC Milan have signed Hammarby forward Emil Roback for around £1m.

The Rossoneri have acquired the 17-year-old from the club part-owned by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Arsenal were also linked to him, but Roback will now enter the Italians' youth set-up.
