Transfer deadline day summer 2019: The deals done so far

The transfer window closes next week meaning that we are set for a busy few days of action as the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea scramble to bolster their squads ahead of the August 8 deadline.

Arsenal dominated the headlines yesterday as they finally completed the club-record move of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, but they remain in the market for a defender. Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is their top target and could be announced very soon.

United meanwhile have entered talks with Juventus about a swap deal involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku, with the Argentine’s agent already in England to hold negotiations with the Premier League club. And Spurs have entered the race for Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes. Follow LIVE updates below:

The summer transfer window closes at 5pm on Wednesday 8 August for all Premier League and Championship clubs, with teams in League One, League Two and across Europe able to sign new players until 11pm on Monday 2 September.

Liverpool are considering a late move for £20m Bordeaux striker Francois Kamano, according to reports.

The Sun claim that Jurgen Klopp wants the 23-year-old as back-up option to his established front three Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

The Guinea international had a fine campaign for Bordeaux last season, scoring 10 goals in Ligue 1.

The Chelsea youngster has extended his contract with the Blues until at least 2022.

The 19-year-old midfielder will now spend the season with Lee Bowyer’s newly promoted Addicks.

Everton are expected to finalise two more signings in the next few days as Juventus forward Moise Kean is set to arrive for a medical in the next 24 hours.

However, while a £30million deal for the 19-year-old is close to being completed, PA understands Mainz midfielder Jean Philippe Gbamin will be first through the door.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international is the like-for-like replacement for Idrissa Gana Gueye in a central holding role after he completed his move to Paris St Germain earlier in the week.

His switch, for a reported £25m-plus, should be completed over the weekend with Kean to follow afterwards.

Kean is the player who is exciting fans the most as they hope the long wait for a regular goalscorer is over having seen the team struggle up front since the departure of Romelu Lukaku two years ago.

Since then Wayne Rooney (10) and Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson (both 13) have been the Toffees' top Premier League scorers in the last couple of seasons.

Kean has scored 11 times in 35 Serie A appearances, the majority of which have been as a substitute, for Juventus and on loan at Verona but is viewed as a player with huge potential by manager Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands.

Everton have already secured Andre Gomes, who spent last season on loan at Goodison Park, on a permanent deal along with back-up goalkeeper Jonas Lossl from Huddersfield and Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.

Sheffield United have completed the signing of striker Oli McBurnie from Swansea for a club-record transfer.

The 23-year-old Scotland international, who scored 22 goals in the Sky Bet Championship last season, has agreed a four-year contract at Bramall Lane for an undisclosed fee.

It is the fourth time this summer the Blades have broken their transfer record, with the money spent on McBurnie following the sums paid for Luke Freeman, Callum Robinson and Lys Mousset.

Some big news from our Chief Football Writer Miguel Delaney...

Manchester United are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur‘s Christian Eriksen, ahead of what is set to be a fraught last week of the transfer window that could well see a merry-go-round.

The Danish playmaker has not yet signed a new contract at White Hart Lane, with his current deal set to run out next year, but his options are diminishing.

Eriksen’s first choice was Real Madrid but they have long cooled their interest, and are moving for Ajax‘s Donny van de Beek.
