Liverpool have found out who they will face in the Champions League knockout stages following the draw in Switzerland.

The Reds romped to the top of the standings in what was a memorable inaugural league phase for the six-time European champions. Arne Slot’s side managed to replicate their domestic form and secured statement wins over Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan.

Liverpool also defeated Bologna, RB Leipzig, Girona and Lille to comfortably wrap up qualification before slipping to defeat to PSV with a much-changed team on the final day.

The Premier League leaders now know they will face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 and their potential route to the final has now also become apparent.

Who will Liverpool face in the last 16?

Liverpool will face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16. The Parisians trashed Brest 10-0 on aggregate in an all-French clash in the play-off round to reach this stage.

What is Liverpool’s route to the final?

The draw also confirmed the entirety of the Champions League knockout bracket.

Liverpool now know that if they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16, they will face either Club Brugge or Aston Villa in the quarter-finals.

A semi-final could then be against Real Madrid, Arsenal, PSV or Atletico Madrid. If they were to reach the final, then the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Inter may well be the opponents to emerge from the other half of the draw.

When will Liverpool play their last-16 tie?

Liverpool will play the first leg of their last-16 match away from home in Paris on 4/5 March and then the second leg at Anfield on 11/12 March.
