Follow live coverage as Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Maddison steals the ball from the foot of Gravenberch in midfield before charging forward down the left wing to play a leading pass to the byline for Tel. Running out of room, the forward attempts to centre a cross but the closely watching Konate gets a touch before winning a goal-kick.

Tottenham rotate almost the entirety of their starting XI, making eight changes from the team that lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest on Monday. Davies and Danso form the centre-back pairing instead of Van de Ven and Romero, with Udogie in for Porro at full-back. All three midfielders are swapped with Sarr, Bentancur and Kulusevski dropping out for Maddison, Gray and Bergvall, while in attack, Solanke and Johnson are preferred to Richarlison and Odobert.

With the Premier League falling sharply down Tottenham’s list of priorities, it would not be a surprise to see Postecoglou pick a side today with one eye on their Europa League semi-final first-leg tie against Bodo/Glimt. Mathematically safe from relegation with five games left to play, dropped points for Everton and Manchester United earlier in the weekend present Spurs with the chance to move up the table, with a win enough to jump both clubs and get into 14th position.
