Gabriel Jesus completed Manchester City’s comeback to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 and secure a place in the round of 16 of the Champions League as group winners on Wednesday. PSG is also sure of going through as runner-up in Group A thanks to Leipzig beating Club Brugge 5-0. The clash of the competition’s wealthiest teams, who are yet to win European football’s top prize, fully came to life in the 50th minute when Kylian Mbappe put PSG ahead after an interchange between Lionel Messi and Neymar. But the attacking dominance by City that defined the first half saw Raheem Sterling’s outstretched left foot nudge in a cross from Kyle Walker to equalize in the 63rd. After Neymar missed a chance to restore PSG’s lead, Bernado Silva teeed up Gabriel Jesus who connected with scuffed shot that still beat Keylor Navas in the 76th. Follow all the latest updates below.

45 mins: Somehow it’s goalless at the break. City have hit the post and had a Rodri header cleared off the line. They’ve penned the visitors firmly in their own half but haven’t yet found a breakthrough.
PSG’s best chance came with a counter-attack from Mbappe right at the end of the half but he was unable to hit the target from the front edge of the box.
It feels as though there are goals in this game, hopefully they come in the second half.

44 mins: Chance! PSG orchestrate a quick break after Messi wins the ball just inside City’s half. He fires it up to Mbappe who sprints towards the box. Walker flies back to make it awkward for Mbappe to get a shot away but he does and his effort curls narrowly over the crossbar!

41 mins: Joao Cancelo catches Messi on the right side of the pitch and the PSG forward goes down. The visitors win a free kick and PSG take their time with it. It’s the first time Paris have had the ball in City’s half for about 10 minutes or so and they decide to play the set piece short. Kylian Mbappe is sent on a chase to the byline but he can’t maintain possession under pressure from Cancelo.

38 mins: PSG’s centre-backs, Marquinhos and Kimpembe have been outstanding so far. City are broken into the box a number of time with some lovely runs through the channels and a couple of crosses that the defenders have been a match for.
PSG can’t get out though, City’s high press means they’re keeping continued pressure in PSG final third and smothering the visitors attempts to play the ball out from deep.

35 mins: Man City are knocking on the door. Gundogan positions himself just inside the front edge of the box and is fed the ball who checks to the right and curls an effort around a Paris defender only to strike the right hand post!
City’s next attack sees Mahrez come inside from the right and drill a low shot at Navas who dives down to his right and pushes the ball wide.

32 mins: In the other Group A match of the evening RB Leipzig are currently beating Club Brugges 3-0. If the Belgium side can’t mount a spectacular comeback in that match both Manchester City and PSG will qualify for the next round regardless of how this match at the Etihad plays out.
Bernardo Silva collects a pass from Mahrez at the byline and his cutback into the box is blocked by Herrera and Navas catches hold of the loose ball.

29 mins: Chance! Mendes shifts the ball around Walker and drives into the box. He rolls the ball onto his right foot and hits a low effort at goal but Ederson is down quickly to smother the ball and keep it from crossing the line.
Chance! This time at the other end of the pitch. A diagonal ball comes out to Mahrez who brings it under control on the right wing. He slips the ball into the box for Gundogan who knocks it over to Sterling. Sterling pulls the ball back for Zinchenko who shoots but is denied by a good block from Marquinhos.

26 mins: Hakimi brings the ball forward on a PSG counter-attack before sending it across to Neymar. Neymar cuts inside and looks to shoot but Mahrez wins the ball before losing it himself to Gueye. He attempts to swing in a cross by Walker is back to block it behind for a corner that Man City then deal with.

23 mins: Kimpembe has had a lot of defensive work to do so for. Firstly he clears a cross from Zinchenko then blocks a shot from the same man after Raheem Sterling found the Ukrainian in the left-side of the box with a nice through ball.

20 mins: Chance! City come close to the opener with Mahrez bringing the ball into the box and taking a left-footed shot that Achraf Hakimi heads over the bar from inside the six-yard box.
The resultant corner is dealt with by PSG but City regain possession and come at them again.
