Follow live coverage as Manchester United face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

The final whistle sounds and a rampant Wolves' away end roars with echoing delight as the final score at a steadily emptying Old Trafford reads Manchester United 0-1 Wolves. Viewers of this match were subjected to a dire first half, before the second offered more attacking intent from both sides. Powered by the introduction of Fernandes from the bench on the hour, United saw close misses from a confidence-lacking Hojlund, and the Portuguese captain before Wolves stole the lead with a touch of class from their own substitute. Following Eriksen's foul on Cunha, Sarabia stepped up and curled a left-footed beauty of a free-kick into the top-right corner to strike United against the run of play. Try as they might, the hosts just couldn't break through the deep-sitting visitors, with two Mount misses minutes before the end capping a bad day at the office. After this outing that saw them squander a 1.10 xG, 14th-placed United now sit level on 38 points with Wolves a place below. The away side stole the points, exceeding their 0.25 xG excellently to seal their first league double over Manchester United since 1979-80.

Gomes is through for Wolves and has Sarabia with him on the left. However, he doesn't play the ball and instead opts for a cut-back... which is intercepted by a red shirt. Will that come back to haunt the visitors? Well, Mount has now earned a free-kick outside the Wolves box.

Eriksen has a corner on the left now, United's eighth of the game. In it goes, and Sarabia heads out. The home set pieces have been poor today. United come forward once more but find it tricky to negotiate Wolves' two banks of defenders. This is a huge result as it stands and takes the West Midlands side level on points with the hosts.
