Arsenal vs Manchester United: United could make complaint after supporter throws red wine over the away bench
Incident happened during the 2-1 win on Saturday

Manchester United are awaiting Arsenal’s response before deciding whether to make an official complaint about a supporter who threw red wine over the away side’s bench at the Emirates on Saturday.
Stewards moved to arrest the fan after he drenched members of Louis van Gaal’s bench, splashing several members of the United contingent after the opening goal. A number of supporters were seen in dispute with Louis van Gaal’s players, in an unsavoury episode which confirms Sir Alex Ferguson’s dislike for the proximity of fans to the bench at the Emirates. In 2008 Ferguson said he wanted extra stewards , after abuse the previous season. "It is too open for my liking."It should not happen when you build a modern stadium. You need tin helmets."
Arsenal have confirmed that a fan had been arrested after throwing an object after United’s opening goal and promised tough action if the fan was found guilty. "There will be full co-operation between Arsenal and the Met Police - we do not tolerate anti-social behaviour,” a spokesman said. If found guilty, individual will also be banned by club."
Jack Wilshere is expected to miss Wednesday’s Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund and next weekend’s trip to West Bromwich after spraining an ankle when challenged by United’s Paddy McNair on Saturday. There is no break or ligament damage. The hip injury Wojciech Szczesny suffered in a clash with teammate Kieran Gibbs when United scored is not serious but it will mean he is almost certain to miss the Dortmund game – win which Emiliano Martinez is likely to be his replacement.
