Liverpool get their season underway against visitors West Ham at Anfield today.

After an encouraging transfer window, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be looking to hit the ground running as they attempt to keep title favourites Manchester City within their sights across the coming months.

The Hammers, meanwhile, will be similarly buoyed by their own summer business having spent almost £100m on new signings.

If history is anything to go by, though, West Ham look set for a difficult game. They’ve conceded more than 14 goals in their last four encounters with the Reds.

A number of notable absentees from Klopp's starting line-up. Dejan Lovren hasn't even been included in the match-day squad as he continues his recovery from the World Cup while Jordan Henderson starts on the bench - as does Fabinho. A first competitive start for Naby Keita, though, who will be eager to make a lasting first impression.
