Gabriel Jesus: The Brazilian had not scored for Manchester City since 25 September before his hat-trick against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night. While the bizarre penalty award involving Raheem Sterling took the limelight, the 21-year-old’s contribution was outstanding in all areas as City recorded their biggest win in the Champions League. Jesus may initially be on the bench on Sunday given Sergio Aguero’s recent form, but he once again demonstrated the talent that could be the difference in the derby.
What a goal! Fernandinho wins the ball in mid-field and gives it Bernardo Silva. Silva sends Aguero running towards goal. Aguero combines with Mahrez in a one-two to beat the defenders before smashing the ball past De Gea.
Man City have only conceded one second half goal so far this season. United will need to score three if they're to win this game now. They've done it before against City but the task looks a long way out of reach.
Fernandinho slots a ball over the top into the box as Sterling makes a good run to claim it. He takes too long on the ball and Smalling forces him to take the ball out of play.
Mahrez is replaced by Leroy Sane. Aguero wins a free kick as Ashley Young handles the ball. David Silva delivers the ball into the box but Luke Shaw heads it away. Aguero comes again but Lindelof stops him this time.
It feels like City have to score again to put this game to bed. Sane gets the ball on the left, he cuts back inside and runs with it before laying it off to Fernadinho who hits it first time. The shot is low and De Gea makes a good save.
Ederson hits a long ball forward looking for Sane. He finds him and Sane wins a free kick after Ashley Young shoves him. Sane knocks the ball into the box from the far left but Lukaku heads it away.
