LASK vs Tottenham LIVE: Result and reaction from Premier League fixture tonight
Follow all the action with Spurs requiring only a point to reach the last 32
Follow all the action as Tottenham take on LASK in the Europa League group stage this evening.
Jose Mourinho’s side came unstuck against Antwerp in their second game, momentarily throwing their progress into jeopardy. However, two victories against Ludogorets have put Spurs firmly back in control, with anything other than a defeat in Austria tonight will ensure their qualification into the knockout rounds.
Tottenham are currently in tremendous form, sitting atop of the Premier League table after a close-fought stalemate against Chelsea last weekend. They have lost just one league game thus far but will certainly already have one eye on the north London derby this weekend, with Mourinho expected to rotate his squad. Meanwhile, Harry Kane, Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and Erik Lamela have all been ruled out with injury. Follow all the action below live:
Team news - Tottenham
Spurs XI: Hart; Davies, Tanganga, Sánchez, Doherty; Højbjerg, Lo Celso, Ndombélé; Moura, Son, Bale
Team news - LASK
LASK XI: A. Schlager; Wiesinger, Holland, Andrade; Ranftl, Madsen, Michorl, Renner; Gruber, Eggestein, Goiginger
Last time out
Last week in the Europa League Spurs took on Ludogorets at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and cruised to a 4-0 victory to put them in a decent position to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile LASK slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Antwerp despite playing at home. Can the Austrian side respond with a victory tonight?
In the first game between these sides Tottenham were victorious, scoring three times at home without conceding.
What do Tottenham need?
Spurs need to avoid defeat tonight in order to qualify for the next stage of the Europa league. They are currently on nine points in Group J, the same as Royal Antwerp, but are second due to an inferior head-to-head record.
LASK are third with six points and will take it down to the last match of the group stages if they defeat Tottenham tonight. A point or better will see Spurs progress.
Early team news
Tottenham will be without Harry Kane for their Europa League trip to LASK because of injury but the striker is expected to be fit for Sunday’s North London derby against Arsenal.
There are also doubts over forward Carlos Vinicius, midfielder Erik Lamela and left-back Sergio Regulion as to whether they will be fit enough to play in Austria tonight.
