Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea: Mauricio Pochettino’s come out on top in tumultuous contest against his old club
Chelsea triumphed in a tumultuous contest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which saw the home side reduced to nine men, concede four goals and receive a standing ovation from their own fans at the end of the game.
Spurs started perfectly as Dejan Kulusevski cut in from the right side and saw his deflected effort find the back of the net in the sixth minute. The hosts almost doubled their lead only for Son Heung-Min’s goal to be ruled out for offside but the first of many VAR calls.
The video refs then chalked off a goal for Raheem Sterling before cancelling out Moises Caicedo’s equaliser. This VAR check also resulted in the first of Tottenham’s red card as Cristian Romero was judged to have seriously fouled Enzo Fernandez. Cole Palmer then slotted home the resultant penalty.
In the second half, Destiny Udogie clipped Sterling and earned a second booking causing Tottenham to finish the game with nine men. They kept Chelsea at before Sterling nipped in behind and played in Nicolas Jackson. He added two more goals in stoppage as Chelsea ran away with the game, but Spurs performance won over the fans and the scoreline doesn’t do their efforts justice.

12 mins: Chance! Raheem Sterling drifts into the middle of the pitch and flicks the ball into the box for Nicolas Jackson when it get played up to him.
Jackson sits down a defender, rolls the ball onto his right foot and shoots only for Guglielmo Vicario to leap to his left and palm the shot wide of the far post.
What a save.

9 mins: Chelsea try to respond with a long ball out to Raheem Sterling on the left side of the pitch. Sterling brings it under control but Kulusevski tracks back fiercely and tumbles him off the ball.

James Maddison switches the play from deep in his own half and finds Pape Sarr with a lovely pass. Sarr turns the ball on to Dejan Kulusevski who dribbles into the box from the right and shoots.
His effort hits Levi Colwill who fails to properly close down the ball and deflects it past Robert Sanchez. The ball trickling in at the near post.

4 mins: Spurs move the ball quickly through the middle of the pitch with James Maddison slipping it to Pape Sarr.
He feeds a nice pass in behind the Chelsea defence where Son Heung-Min takes over and guides a side-footed effort into the hands of Robert Sanchez.

3 mins: Tottenham take their time coming forward before deciding to attack down the left wing. Brennan Johnson, starting tonight after impressing against Crystal Palace, receives the ball and spins towards goal.
Destiny Udogie makes an underlapping run and is given the ball. He pulls back into the middle back can’t find a teammate and the attack breaks down.

As tonight’s match is Tottenham’s final home game before Remembrance Day two wreaths are laid on the pitch and a moment of silence is observed before kick off.
Chelsea then get the ball rolling and boot it long where it’s claimed by the home side.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou spoke to Sky Sports before kick off saying: “[It will be] a tough contest.
“If you set aside their results, which have been inconsistent, they have a good line-up and players and Mauricio is a top manager.
“It’s going to be a tough game for us. But we have been good and I am sure there is going to be a good atmosphere in the stadium.”
