Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed the Premier League outfit have agreed to sign Wolves striker Benik Afobe, reportedly for a club record fee.

The Cherries boss is even hopeful that 22-year-old Afobe will be eligible to play against West Ham United in the League on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the 2-1 victory against Birmingham City in the FA Cup third round, Howe said: "A deal has been agreed by us.

"There are still hurdles for us to overcome but we're hopeful it will be concluded in time for Tuesday night.

"He'll bring pace, strength, and hopefully goals. He's also a good player technically and we'll be excited to see him in a Bournemouth shirt if the deal gets completed."
