Radamel Falcao: Chelsea striker could head to China after deadline-day return to Atletico Madrid collapses

Blues striker missed out on a move to Spain but may yet have a chance to end his Stamford Bridge nightmare

Radamel Falcao could still have the chance to end his Chelsea nightmare before the end of the season, despite the striker missing out on a deadline-day return to Atletico Madrid.

Falcao made a desperate attempt to leave Chelsea on Monday, flying out to the Spanish capital as his agent attempted to negotiate a move back to Atletico.

Falco is understood to have spent the day in a Madrid hotel. A move to Gary Neville’s Valencia was also mooted, but failed to materialise, and his chances of joining Atletico were ended when a potential move to China for Jackson Martinez fell through.

Falcao could yet leave, however, as Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning – the team that signed Blues midfielder Ramires for £25m last week - have until February 26 to sign the Colombian.

The Daily Telegraph report that Jiangsu have shown a strong interest in the Colombian.

Falcao has endured a difficult season at Chelsea after an equally unimpressive spell at Manchester United during the 2014-15 season.

The forward has not played for Chelsea since October 31 and has since been kept out of action by a thigh injury.

Falcao’s future is partly dependent on that of Loic Remy, who turned down the chance of a move to China despite an offer of £12m that Chelsea were prepared to listen to. If Remy stays at Chelsea Falco would have the opportunity to move on once he is closer to full fitness.
