Summer transfer window: Likely deals and biggest rumours

The summer transfer window is in full flow as the annual Cristiano Ronaldo saga about him leaving Real Madrid continues to gather pace.

Manchester United are frontrunners for his signature, as they usually are, but they have other targets, with Alvaro Morata, Ivan Perisic and Andrea Belotti all wanted to follow Victor Lindelof into the club.

Liverpool are expected to announce a new record signing this week if Mohamed Salah completes his £35m+ move from Roma, as Jurgen Klopp eyes seven new targets in total.

Manchester City are the summer’s early pace setters when it comes to new signings, as Benardo Silva and Ederson have both already joined the club.

Everton are the other big spenders so far in the window, signing Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m while Ajax's Davy Klaassen for £23.6m.

We will have all the latest throughout the day here so don't touch that dial.

Arsenal have told Barcelona that Hector Bellerin is not for sale and they expect the Spanish defender to remain in north London.

Bellerin emerged as one of the Nou Camp club's top targets and new head coach Ernesto Valverde gave the green light to his signing.

But the emergence of Marco Verratti onto this summer's market has complicated a summer that was already going to stretch Barca's financial limits, with self-imposed budgets meaning that the club could only countenance a net spend of around £75m this off-season.

Mohamed Salah is set to become Jurgen Klopp's first summer signing with the Egyptian due to arrive in England for a medical on Tuesday.

Liverpool secured Champions League football on the final day of the Premier League season and Klopp is set for a bumper summer spend as he looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging both at home and in Europe next term.

And Roma wide-man Salah could be the first of seven new arrivals at Anfield in a deal understood to be worth in the region of £35million although that figure could rise with add-ons.

Real Madrid's president has indicated the club's interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is over.

The Spanish giants have instead turned their attention to AC Milan's young stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.

“'We haven't spoken to De Gea," Florentino Perez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero on Monday night.

Newcastle are hopeful of completing a deal for Eibar defender Florian Lejeune within days.

The Magpies have been locked in negotiations with the LaLiga outfit for some time over the 26-year-old Frenchman, who has an £8.7million release clause in his contract.

However, sources on Tyneside have indicated that they are close to reaching an agreement which would hand manager Rafael Benitez his first summer signing.

Former Auxerre and Villarreal central defender Lejeune signed for Manchester City in July 2015, but was loaned straight out to Spanish second division side Girona, where he had spent the previous campaign, also on loan.

He joined Eibar on a permanent deal for just £1.2million 12 months later and made 34 league appearances last season as the club finished in 10th place.

Alexis Sanchez has agreed to join Manchester City from Arsenal.

That comes via Spanish journalist Gerard Romero who concedes any deal "won't be easy".

The not insignificant hurdle of agreeing a financial package with the Gunners still must be overcome but this could represent the first domino to fall in one of the transfer sagas of the summer.

One to watch for sure.

Belotti to United?

It certainly doesn't look like it. The Torino president has insisted that the Serie A side have no desire in selling the highly-sought Andrea Belotti.

Urbano Cairo has also revealed that neither Milan or PSG have made an offer for the forward, dismissing reports as "journalistic stories".
