Premier League transfer round-up: Brighton continue to build squad

Chelsea will look to meet Antonio Conte’s demands by bringing in more players this week, with reports suggesting that Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the first to arrive at Stamford Bridge for as much as £35m.

The England international’s career has somewhat stalled at the Emirates, and with the 23-year-old in the final year of his contract, Arsenal could look to cash in on him and sell the midfielder to their London rivals.

Chelsea have also demanded that wantaway striker Diego Costa returns to the club after going AWOL for the last month, with the club fining him two weeks’ wages believed to be worth £300,000. They have issued a series of expectations for Costa to meet upon his return.

Tottenham are closing in on their first signing of the summer after Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez told Ajax that he wants to leave the Dutch side. As revealed by The Independent, Spurs are keen on signing the 21-year-old, and officials have flown out to the Netherlands to try and structure a deal.

Finally, the Premier League clubs are believed to have unanimously voted to end the transfer window before the start of next season, with the Premier League set to ratify the changes by the end of next month.

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN continues to be linked with a move away from Arsenal.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is concerned about the size of his squad and sees the versatile 23-year-old as the ideal man to plug several holes.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are increasingly confident they will be able to prise the England man away for £35million.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO is not part of Liverpool's squad to face Hoffenheim on Tuesday but the Brazil playmaker took the headlines anyway.

With the 25-year-old pushing for a move to Barcelona, Reds captain Jordan Henderson said he would do all he can to convince him to stay at Anfield.

With the futures of OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN and ALEXIS SANCHEZ still uncertain, Arsenal could be looking to Real Madrid's MARCO ASENSIO as a replacement.

The Sun reports the 21-year-old has demanded talks with the Spanish giants after learning of interest from the Gunners.

Jurgen Klopp is evidently not happy with how Emre Can's contract has been allowed to run down to its final year, with the Liverpool boss describing the situation as "not very cool". However, he confirmed that talks have taken place and he's confident that the Germany international will sign a new deal this season.

The latest on Philippe Coutinho is that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will have no say on what the future holds for the midfielder, with the club's owners FSG set to decide his fate depending on what Barcelona offer for the unhappy Brazilian. Klopp was not in the mood to talk about Coutinho, who has not travelled to Germany for tonight's Champions League clash with Hoffenheim, and admitted that he cannot offer any more than what is already being reported.

Chelsea want Diego Costa to return to the club despite the wantaway star not being in Antonio Conte's plans.

Costa has criticised Chelsea's treatment of him this summer, saying he is "not a criminal", and claiming he is prepared to remain in exile for a year as he agitates for a return to Atletico Madrid.

But it is understood that Chelsea want Costa, who has two years remaining on his contract, to return to the club and get back to full fitness.
