The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.

This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Spurs are having all of the possession but are cannot make anything with it. Porro looks to create a chance with a cross from the right towards Sarr, but the ball is flicked away from his head by Werner, who is in an offside position.

Johnson has been reliable with his crosses from the right, but lofts the ball straight into Fabianski's gloves this time. West Ham are putting plenty of player behind the ball to defend, which is making it difficult for Spurs to create opportunities.

Tottenham are winless in their last three Premier League away games against West Ham (drawing one and losing two), their longest run without a win at the Hammers since a run of six between 1995 and 2001. They look like the team more likely to take the lead, but must put Fabianski under more pressure. Spurs have only had one shot on target in the second half and are not making the most of their dominance.

WHAT A CROSS! Spurs are pushing for a second goal! Johnson and Porro work together on the right before playing a pass out to Sarr, who whips a phenomenal low cross into a dangerous area. It looks like Werner will have an easy finish, but Coufal gets back to clear it away.

Kulusevski gets involved immediately after coming on. He plays a clever one-two with Son on the edge of the box, allowing the South Korea international to move into space before laying a pass into Johnson. However, his low cross from the right is blocked.
