An improved second-half showing from West Ham was not enough to prevent Wolves taking all three points and closing the gap on the team nearest to them in the Premier League table. The home side started the match nine points clear of the relegation zone, but attacked the game with intent and got their reward on 21 minutes through Strand Larsen, who moves onto double figures for the league campaign. West Ham-who started for the first time with Ferguson up front-struggled to create, and it was left to Bowen to orchestrate any chances they had. It is clear that the biggest issue West Ham have had this season is scoring goals. Since Potter took charge in January, no side has averaged fewer shots per game (9.3). To add to that, only Ipswich and Leicester have scored fewer goals in that time. They have had to endure long spells without Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug, but with the latter getting more minutes this evening, he will hope their fortunes are changing. For Wolves, they will be delighted to put more daylight between them and the bottom three. They now move onto 29 points, just five behind a cluster of clubs above them that include Spurs. The xG of 0.89 achieved by Wolves does not quite tell the whole story of their dominance. West Ham managed an xG of 1.02 and will rue the missed opportunities that came their way. Ferguson and Soucek were the guilty parties. Both teams will reflect and look forward to games at the weekend now, with West Ham facing Bournemouth and Wolves taking on Ipswich.

JUST WIDE FROM MUNETSI TO MAKE IT TWO!! Strand Larsen strode purposely through the middle of the park for Wolves, but as his pace slowed, he looked around and saw support in the shape of Munetsi who timed his run perfectly. He approached the keeper and bobbled his shot wide with Starnd Larsen desperately trying to get on the end of the skewed effort at the far right post.

THAT WAS A GOLDEN CHANCE FOR SOUCEK TO DRAW WEST HAM LEVEL!! An horrific mistake from Toti Gomes allowed West Ham's substitute Soucek to drive inside the box from the right wing. He drifted across Agbadou who darent comitt the foul, the Czech Republic star then proceeded to shoot wide from close range after doing all the hard work. That shot and opportunity was squandered.

Fullkrug again attempting to use his frame to unsettle Wolves, but the home side are happy to mix it up and get physical themselves. Soucek turns away with disdain as Fullkrug flicks on a header that is way too far infront of him to make anything of.
