A scorching start from Argentina! Ireland are punctured through the middle by a good carry from Thomas Gallo, and the prop’s arms are free for an offload, Santiago Grondona providing good support.

The blindside puts it in the hands of Mateo Carreras, who produces a vicious right-foot step back to the inside and weaves between retreating Irish would-be tacklers.

The conversion is good - Argentina into an early lead.

Ireland run Argentina’s first clearance back but Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose mishandle on the switch, the outside centre knocking on.

Argentina then kick the advantage away into the Irish backfield and James Lowe has plenty of time to pick his spot and punt for the touchline. Argentina will throw a lineout on halfway.

Ireland, of course, get the chance to belt out two sets of lyrics, and do so with more understated emotion, though Peter O’Mahony and Tadhg Furlong bow their heads and close their eyes as they join their teammates in answering “Ireland’s Call”.

Robbie Henshaw is another with eyes closed as the camera pans across the centre’s face - this is his first appearance since the Lions series in South Africa. What dents can he make?

The two sets of players emerge from the Aviva Stadium tunnel, Ireland led by James Ryan, clutching a scrum cap in his left hand and roared on by the crowd. Peter O’Mahony makes more gentle passage onto the turf at the back of the line - a good chance for the veteran flanker having earned a late promotion to the starting side. The lineout battle could be intriguing against a lanky Argentina back five forward unit.
