The Philadelphia Eagles delivered when it mattered to down the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium to keep themselves well and truly in the NFC playoff race.

Carson Wentz's fourth quarter touchdown throw to tight end Zach Ertz proved decisive as the world champions outlasted the hometown Jags 24-18 in front of a capacity crowd in London.

They move to 4-4 to keep themselves in the hunt in the NFC East. Conversely Jacksonville, who fall to 3-5, see their hopes of returning to the sharp end in the AFC take another hit with this defeat a fourth in a row.

Jaguars 3-0 Eagles

Clement into the game for the first time but there's nothing there. They look for him on a screen but the Jags see it all the way and stuff him behind the line.

Eagles need a chunk. Wentz looks for Jeffrey, he catches, powers forward. Is it enough? 

Jalen Ramsey doesn't think so... but it is. Just. Move those chains.

Whisper it, but the Eagles look like they've finally woken up. Another first and then, at last, Wentz looks deep and has Nelson Agholor wide open for a big gain.

That's what they need. Even if just to keep that Jags front on its toes.

Oh boy. Wentz goes deep again looking for the end zone but, uh oh, Ramsey sees it the whole way and helps himself. Woof. Big play.

Two Eagles possessions. Two turnovers. Not. Good.

Wentz doesn't turn the ball over often - that the first pick in 181 attempts for the former second overall pick. That tells you just how good that read was from Ramsey. 

He talks the talk but he certainly walks the walk too. Some player.

Fletcher Cox and that Philly front starting to get some change now as they attempt to bottle up Bortles and Co.

Here they come again and... they get there, Chris Long getting to Bortles on third down. The Jags will punt.

It's Wentz with the ball again after that quick change of possession. Philly looked to be humming finally on their last possession until that untimely pick. How will they respond now?

With some balance, it seems.

Smallwood with a carry on first before Josh Adams moves the chains. This team rode their ground game all their way to the Super Bowl last year and you feel they need to lean on them again, even with a few different faces in place this time around.

Wentz goes to the air this time though and finds Agholor again. If they can get him in space then he too can be a key factor here.

Wentz has tried to spread the ball around so far but he comes right back to his favourite target now, Zach Ertz.

The big tight end is such a weapon and safety Tashaun Gipson has no chance in coverage there as he catches and runs for a gain of 15.

This time it's Jeffrey with the catch for another first and the Eagles are into the redzone.

Jaguars 3-3 Eagles (Field goal - Elliott)

We talked about getting Agholor the ball in space and they do again and are rewarded with a big gain of 14 on a jet sweep around the left edge. It'll be first and goal.

There's only so long you can keep this Jags front quiet for so long and the Eagles line, now short of both tackles to injury, can't stop Calais Campbell as he flies through and sacks Wentz on second.

Wentz wants Ertz on third but there's nowhere near enough time for him to get to him and he throws it into the turf.

Jake Elliott up for a short field goal... and it's good. We're tied at 3s.

Jaguars 6-3 Eagles (Field goal - Lambo)

How will the Jags respond then? 

Bortles takes off on first, TJ Yeldon gets a couple more on second and it'll be another big third down again for this offense.

Bortles goes to the air... and finds Keelan Cole for the first down. Rookie DJ Chark gets it for a second first down in succession and the Jags are on the move.

They're moving the wrong way there though as Malcolm Jenkins blitzes from his safety position and gets there to sack Bortles and leave Jacksonville with third and a bunch.

Needing 22 yards for a first they call a screen to Yeldon and with the extra effort he inches them into just about field goal range. Doug Marrone thinks about punting but nope he comes Lambo again.

Here it comes then from 57 yards... and it's good. What a kick. Jags lead once again.

Plenty of change on that Philly line with first choice tackles Jason Peters and Lane Johnson out of the game. Not what you want against one of the best D lines in the NFL.

We hit the two minute warning with the Eagles looking to level things up before the break.

They won't. Wentz floats one out there looking for Matthews and it's oh so nearly picked as a Jags defender dives to defend it.

Eagles will punt.

Right then, Blake. What you got? He'll have good field position to help him do it after that defensive stop with the punt fielded at near to midfield.

Bortles' first attempt is batted down. His second is good, Cole grasping it for a first but, wow, an Eagles defender comes flying in and jars it loose. Jenkins scoops it up and that is Eagles ball. 

The officials rule it a catch and fumble and if this one stands Wentz will get a second chance before the interval. Huge.
