OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Tucked away just off a relatively quiet road a five-minute drive from the A11, it's just ten minutes from glorious walks at Thetford Forest, 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds and 20 minutes from Cambridge by car. Ely and the horse racing at Newmarket are also nearby. It's well located for families - activity parks Go Ape and WildTracks, and horse riding at Barrow Hall Stables, are all nearby. Close by is a pleasant pub in the local village of Tuddenham.

By car: around 2 hours from London, and 3 hours 30 minutes from Manchester or Bristol. Free parking available.

By train: London Kings Cross to Newmarket (via Cambridge) takes 1 hour 30 minutes. The station is a 20-minute taxi from the hotel. Book trains to Newmarket.

FOOD AND DRINK

The restaurant, located in the original mill building, has character, with lots of original beams. It's even more appealing when candle-lit. It leads onto the bar area, with a smattering of tables, grey chairs and a mustard sofa.
