Neoclassicism on steroids, this hotel has an abundance of marble, richly coloured fabrics, hugely high ceilings and a 3000kg crystal chandelier at the entrance for good measure. With nods to the ancient Greeks and Romans, as well as Arabian elements to heighten the extravagant atmosphere, even the air is perfumed.

Service here is efficient and professional, with staff always smartly attired, and the extensive range of facilities includes several restaurants and bars, smart boutiques, a top gym and spa provision, three pools and a business centre.
