To celebrate Halloween and half term, the Warner Bros Studio Tour is hosting a special two-week feature on the darker aspects of the Harry Potter films, from 16 October to 1 November. Glacier trek

Oh Canada

Low-cost airline WestJet is launching its first direct flights from Gatwick, serving six Canadian cities. The new services, which start next spring, will connect London with Toronto (pictured), Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and St John's. westjet.com

Ski Scotland

Natural Retreats CairnGorm Mountain will launch an in-house ski school this winter. The Snow School will offer sessions for both adults and children, including one-to-one lessons for under-fives. Bergans of Norway has a new range of waterproof jackets for the autumn/winter season. The jackets are made from lightweight fabric and come in a range of colours. Fly to Vienna

Austrian Airlines is now flying from Manchester to Vienna. It is the only daily service between the two cities, although the airline is competing with Jet2, which operates the same route three times a week. Austrian's outbound flight departs at 1.10pm and the return at 9.50am. austrian.com
